My Dream Car by admin

Many of my regular readers will know that my car is probably my biggest passion in life. If I’m not writing about it, I’m fixing it, and if I’m doing neither of these I’m probably driving it. However recently I’ve had the urge to buy a new car. This is one of those desires i get every two or three years, where even though my car is working perfectly, and I love it, I just feel like i want something different, something more comfortable.

However, I also doubted whether I could afford to, because the car I wanted was a lot more than I could probably get for mine. So i went onto Adizar and advertised my car as being for sale. I checked on Adizar and within a week I’d received a whopping forty offers for it, some of them 20% above the asking price. Now my only problem is what car to buy next!

Wedding Gifts by admin

My friend Charlotte recently got married. One of the most delicate subjects when she found out she was getting married was the list of presents that people she wanted people to buy for her wedding day. Naturally Charlotte wanted everthing "non-wedding related"clothes, mak-eup, a puppy. Nothing for the groom! She got a lot of really wonderful gifts, in accordance with what she had asked for, but she also received a water dispenser from a friend who insisted on buying her one. He said it would change her life, but Charlotte decided to give it to me instead!

The BIBO water taps provide instant hot water at any time of day. I absolutely love my water dispenser, I can make a delicious hot drink whenever I want. Char's come over a couple times and seen me use it and I think she want's it back, is it rude not to give it up?!?!!

Bulgakov and Censorship by admin

When Mikhail Bulgakov was severely criticised by one of Moscow’s theatre directors, Joseph Stalin himself personally protected him! Stalin stated that a writer of Bulgakov’s quality was far beyond ‘party words’ such as ‘left’ and ‘right’. Rather unusual words for the dictator to utter! Stalin went on to find work for the playwright in a small Moscow theatre called the Moscow Art Theatre where Bulgakov’s ‘Days of the Turbins’ was premiered in 1926. Though the play concerned the fate of Russian intellectuals and officers of the White Guard, Stalin was greatly impressed by it and apparently watched it 15 times.

Bulgakov’s Moliere was received badly by Pravda before being withdrawn from the theatre. The Purple Island and Zoyka’s Apartment were received very well by the public in 1928 but were heavily criticized by the critics. March 1929 saw Bulgakov’s career ruined and government censorship blocking the publication of any of his work. In despair, Bulgakov wrote a letter to Stalin in July of 1929 requesting permission to emigrate if no use could be found for him as a writer. Now no longer censored, use your apple discount codes to buy his works on your ipad!

Gambling in the UK by admin

There is so much to choose from in terms of gambling to win money in the various regions of England. Increasingly, people are choosing casinos as their venue of choice. There are many massive casinos popping-up all over the UK. This has been the case particularly recently, because the UK government has relaxed the licensing laws with regards to gambling, so people can gamble more easily, in many more places, and at all times of day, which is a big contrast with the past, where the industry was regulated very heavily. Manchester, Birmingham and London are the destinations of choice for many of the UK’s gamblers because they have a variety of huge casinos where a plurality of games can be played at all hours of the day. This was not without controversy, but it seems that the uproar has subsided, for now at least. Many assert that the problem with gambling is that it’s addictive an dangerous, sometimes this is true. However the national lottery UK is no ordinary gambling. Firstly it can only be played twice a week, and secondly much of the money it generates is spent improving sporting and cultural facilities around the UK.

Freaks And Geeks! by admin

I've finally gotten around to watching that old tv series Freaks and Geeks. It was filmed in 1999 to 2000 but was supposed to be based in 1980, and follows two groups of people in high school, some of them the 'geeks' and some of them the 'freaks'.

The best thing about the series is that it features people when they were young who are actually quite famous now. It was executive produced by Judd Apatow, who has brought us huge hits like Knocked Up, Superbad and Pineapple Express and stars James Franco, Seth Rogen and Jason Segel, all of whom have featured in Apatow's later films.

It also stars actresses Linda Cardellini and Busy Phillips, both who have gone on to have successful film and TV careers.

It's a really funny, quirky program, but only eighteen episodes were made and the series was canceled after only twelve were shown on TV.

I've downloaded the whole series and have been watching one every other night for the past couple of weeks, I've just put them all on my r4 card so I can watch them on my DS when I'm on my commute to entertain myself.
